The TMS treatment process is simple and easy.

At your first appointment, we will get to know you and your medical history, your current symptoms and the treatments you have received or are receiving. If you have a treating psychiatrist or medical professional who completed a referral letter, this will be considered during your initial visit.

A TMS Patient Screening Form and a TMS Safety Checklist is completed to ensure you are absolutely safe during the treatment.

For this same reason, we also use state-of-the-art technology, including the new generation Neurosoft Neuro-MSX Therapeutic Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator.

During the treatment, you will be seated in a normal reclining chair, and the special TMS coil is simply positioned over your head.

The coil generates brief magnetic fields in the specifically targeted areas. This stimulates the neural circuitry in specific areas of your brain and helps to help smooth or level irregular brain activity related to your specific condition.

This is not at all painful, uncomfortable, or even scary. There is no pain and sedation is not required – patients are fully conscious throughout the process. Earplugs are provided to be worn during the treatment, because the TMS equipment produces a loud clicking noise.

Any discomfort you may feel during treatment can be immediately addressed. Most patients describe the TMS treatment like a tingling sensation, while others say it feels like light tapping over the area being stimulated.

After the treatment, you will be able to drive home and continue your normal activities.
Some patients report immediate results, while others experience improvement in their symptoms and quality of life over the course of treatment.

You will be referred back to your treating professional after the TMS treatment is completed.
